The FieldOur football field is talked about in all the leagues we've ever played in for a couple of very important reasons:
But the field should be more than just a football pitch. It should be a facility for the community and be available for all local residents to enjoy in a variety of capacities. Using the fieldOur football field is primarily used for training and matches by Shipham AFC. If you would like to rent it, however, we would love to see it used and to earn some income which can be put back into developing our club and facilities. Priority will always be given to members who would like to use the field for one off events. Members can use all the facilities by prior arrangement and for a nominal fee. if you are interested in joining as a member see our joining page. If you are not a member but would like to rent the field for an event or function - perhaps in conjunction with the village hall - then our fees are very reasonable. Please contact us for further information.
Developing the fieldFor a decade the field has been virtually neglected because the club has not been running. Now that interest is renewed and the club is re-formed we need to make sure the field works for everyone - sportsmen and women, kids looking to run off steam, party organisers and anyone using the village hall. With the field regularly mown and maintained this should be possible. If you have any constructive comments or suggestions as to how the field is or could be used please contact us. Other facilitiesAt present the facilities available on site are minimal but improving all he time. The pitch is full size but the club also owns a set of 5-a-side goals which can be used by members. The village hall has toilets and the Star Room in the hall has a shower.
Planning permission has been granted to build some changing rooms and a base has already been laid in preparation. The new changing rooms will provide toilets and showers for two full teams and a referee. The club already has some funds but is looking for any grants or donations which will allow the changing rooms to be built whilst allowing us to invest in other equipment for the club and community.
